Our Christmas Lunch, always a popular event, was held at the Marine Hotel, where 37 members
enjoyed a seasonal repast in true Christmas spirit.
At our January Coffee Morning a very interesting Picture Show created by David Woodnott,
screened photographs of many of our events over the past year.
Then in February another successful pub lunch at the Golden Lion was enjoyed by 23 members.
In March our AGM was attended by 37 members. The business was quickly dealt with, and the
Officers and Committee re-elected and our President, David Pearce, then entertained us with a talk
about his recently published book of sonnets, illustrated by reading some examples. Retired Head
of English of a public school, he is a man of many talents.
Our attendances are generally good - over 30 at most meetings, which represents at least 50%
of our members. As the AGM is customarily followed by a Fish & Chip Lunch, this no doubt helps!
New members continue to join us, and we are happy to welcome Fred and Heather Chapman, and
Thomas and Lizzie Roberts.
A busy programme of events for 2016 is well in hand. Meanwhile we look forward to resuming
Bat & Trap training in April.
